Jeremy Freedman joined the firm in July 2017. He has been a solicitor for more than 30 years and has specialised in Family Law for more than 20 years. He believes passionately that the practice of law is a vocation and he chose Craigs because of its client-focussed approach. Jeremy Freedman was born and raised in St Johns Wood. He attended George Eliot School and later City of London School. He has degrees from both Cambridge University (Kings College) and Exeter University. Before he became a solicitor, Jeremy spent 7 years working in various Social Services Departments, working with the elderly and with teenage children. He qualified as a Social Worker in 1981 before taking up legal studies. Jeremy Freedman trained at Francis and Francis Solicitors in Wembley, a general practice, where he received a thorough grounding in property, criminal and commercial law as well as in wills and probates (and took a celebrated case to the House of Lords). The skills and knowledge acquired in those departments are, he believes, essential to the practice of family law. For 28 years Jeremy was a founding partner, and latterly a Consultant, at Freedman Green Dhokia in Boundary Road NW8. Jeremy has a wide range of personal interests. He lives on a smallholding in Bedfordshire with his wife and (currently) 3 Dexter cows, 19 Jacob sheep, any number of geese, ducks and chickens and 2 cats. He loves to grow fruit and vegetables, to lein, to watch cricket and football, and to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Whenever possible he enjoys a variety of cultural pursuits. Most of Jeremy’s work is divorce-based, dealing with the financial issues arising particularly in complex, high value cases. He also has considerable experience in cases concerning unmarried co-habitees, and disputes regarding arrangements for children when the parental relationship breaks down.
